The Royal Henley is the MOTHER OF ALL REGATTAS. Its a rowing event held annually on the River Thames by the town of Henley-on-Thames, England. Now it takes place over FIVE days! Their Youtube site has videos of every contest. Every contest has a specific name. NO COMMERCIALS appear on ANY of these videos or the website. NO COMMERCIALS are mentioned or seen ANYWHERE. The ENTIRE regatta venue is collapsed and taken away when they are done because the place is like a nature preserve when it is not the regatta venue!!!
It is organised by a self-electing body of Stewards, who are largely former rowers themselves.
To preserve the natural beauty of the Henley Reach of the Thames, every part of the Regatta’s installations, both on land and in the river, is removed after each Regatta and then re-erected the following year so that there is no trace of the Regatta between September and March.
