Saturday, June 4th, 2022, is National Learn to Row Day (according to USRowing). I would like to give anyone interested the opportunity to learn to row on my two sliding seat training boats. I will provide a lesson at KINGSTON POINT BEACH by demonstrating how to row them on the beach on stands. Then I will let you try it out. Once you feel confident I will put you out on the water. Of course, this is weather permitting — the wind cannot be more than 5 mph because for novices any more would be difficult.
I will be there from 6:30-7:30am, 7:30-8:30am and 8:30-9:30am. Let me know which time you would be interested in joining. I can only ensure that about 4 people per hour can have on-water time, but anyone can watch and learn as well. By entering comments here you indicate which session you want to join. This is on a first come first serve basis so make sure I respond to you. . If I have to cancel I will post it on my website www.therondoutrower.com by 6:00am. This session is FREE
By the way, The New York State Empire State Trail runs along the Hudson from the beach and anyone can also walk or ride bikes to the new Sojourner Truth Park on the trail afterward. Or just visit Rotary Park along the Hudson. It is beautiful and has many picnic tables.
