From the City Docks under the Wurts Street Bridge to the Kingston Water tanks just north of the lighthouse and back. Total was actually over 4 miles. It was an incredibly perfect day after a holiday weekend. No powerboats at all visible. Very quiet So glad I decided to go out today. Can you spot where the lighthouse is on the map?
We rowed south on the Hudson, halfway to the Big Rock Point and back. Around 4.66 miles. Lovely flat surface. Quiet. Took this picture at the end as we pulled back into the creek. When you shoot into the rising sun it looks much darker than it actually is. Phone cameras can be pretty funny.
Although it looked beautiful it was quite cold. Water plus air temp was not 100 degrees but this area is very safe and shallow. The ripples in the sand in the foreground should have told me something. After we rowed a mile out the wind began to pick up. We did see an eagle on the tall trees to the left and that was a treat. A nice but short workout!
